How to Miss Out on True Love in 5 Easy Steps
By MaryAnna Donovan
You know, I can’t even believe it anymore.
I can’t believe the unwavering demands for Patty-perfect and faultless Frank in the dating arena, demands which I believe are born from the one-click-and-you’re-out world of online dating.
Let me ask you something: are you perfect?
Do you have any faults?
Are you the most gorgeous creature in the world?
Let me tell you something: I am not perfect: no one is.
I have faults galore.
I am at best, average looking.
If you want to remain forever unsatisfied with anyone who comes your way, then follow these sure-fire steps:
- For online dating,
bypass anyone who does not have a photo.
Most dating experts will tell you this, but I believe that you can miss out on a lot with this strategy.
Since only 26% of profiles contain photos, there are probably some nice (and real) people you’ll never connect with. - Maintain an air of mystery.
Always be late, never call when you say you will, break dates: after all, an element of surprise is an enticing, irresistible thing, right? - Look for things to criticize.
Get yourself revved up into a negative, picky mood and start tearing the other person apart.
Criticize their clothes, teeth, home, car, job, and anything else you can think of. - Always be on the lookout for “something better.”
Forget working on a relationship with the person in front of you, use ‘em and lose ‘em, isn’t that what they say? - Only talk about yourself.
And whatever you do, don’t listen to the other person.
Talk right over them.
And be sure to look everywhere but at the person while you are jabbering on.
