Lost!
I am lost.
That’s right, I am lost in the never-ending web of the Internet and it is stressing me out to the max!
You see, this is one of my big gripes with online dating, and that’s why I bring up the issue.
When I was involved in online dating, I would get lost for hours searching through databases, winking, buzzing, and emailing, tweaking my profile, ARGH!!!!
My mind would twirl, my tension level would surge, and it seemed walking away got harder and harder.
Now, it is not online dating that ensnares me, it’s work.
I have subscribed to quite a few feeds, am trying to keep up with several blogs, and am perusing other blogs.
In my quest to find the perfect tidbit of information, to write the perfect blog entry, to perfect my Facebook wall, and to find the perfect blog friend, I am feeling crushed by this quest for —– perfection!
Today I had a realization as I was frantically switching among site tabs and trying to remember what I was doing with each on.
And that realization can be summed up in one word: limits!
I, at least, am going to try to set limits – limits to my research which often stretches out as long as a cross-country highway.
Limits to the feeds that come in every day: I don’t have to read every single article therefore opening more website tabs.
Limits to email: delete the non-important ones or if I get to far behind in the feeds, delete all those older than two days.
And so on.
Limits mean control, limits mean sanity, limits mean power.
Take back your power!
