Dating on the Cheap
Monday, August 18th, 2008‘Tis true, ‘tis true – the economy sucks. And if you’re in the dating mode, lack of money is going to put a crimp in your style. Never fear, MaryAnna is here! Listed below are some unusual and fun things you can do for a cheap date! In fact, don’t let on to the “cheap” thing and he (she) will think you are a creative genius!
- Walk: That’s right, walk. I’m not going to say “walk in the park,” but that very well may be where you end up. The thing is, walking is a romantic, healthy, and FREE thing to do. Pick a classy place to walk – the pier, the woods, around the reservoir, a cemetery or an old city neighborhood.
- Picnic: Yes, I know it’s still winter, and for those of you in the south, no problem with an outdoor venue. But have faith, ye faithful northerners. You can do something really cool. Have a picnic in a local greenhouse – you might have to research to find one – or in your own living room. Put Jimmy Buffet on the stereo, buy or borrow a palm tree, and serve a meal of bread, fruit, cheese, and of course, wine.
- Movie theater: The theater is in your living room. Rent some scary flicks – the more likely she is to crawl into your armpit – pop up some corn, and cuddle up.
- Baby sit: Ever gone on a baby sitting date? Probably not many people have. Find a relative or friend who needs a night out and invite your babe to help you watch the little tyke. Then let your paternal instincts gyrate. She’ll fall hook, line, and sinker.
- Drive: What is more relaxing than a leisurely drive out in the country? Summer, fall, winter, spring – it doesn’t matter. Each season has its own mysteries.
