Ladies and Gentlemen,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Heed me, read me, take my words to heart,
The headlines are scary, they tear us apart,
But whatever you do, don’t succumb to your fear,
Keep focused ahead and don’t drown in your beer. (or wine, or Margaritas, or whatever…)

Ah, how lucky I am to have such dear friends as you because, as you see, a poet I am not!

Okay, now let’s get serious.
I was thinking about you all day today, because frankly, after I read this morning’s paper, I got into a bit of a funk.
So when I got into a funk, I feared that you might get into one too, and it is my mission to do my all and everything to prevent funk-hood from descending upon you.

I guess we could say these are interesting times.
And that’s precisely where we need to leave it.
It is potentially easy to get wrapped around this axle of financial decay and uncertainty, but you’ve got to know it’s not about you, has nothing to do with you, you didn’t cause it, and lord knows, you probably can’t fix it.
So what do you do?
You live.
You take care of yourself.
You are a wonderful human being and you are deserving of a good relationship.
So those of you singles, think about the economy as a fabulous screening device!
If you circumstances are a little uncertain and you meet up with some babes or guys who cop a ‘tude about it, thank the lord you can knock them off your list without wasting time.
