Bad news. Doom and Gloom

Bad news. Doom and Gloom.

Layoffs, closings, and escalating prices.
It seems everywhere, everyone is in a righteous tizz.
And in this tizz-hood, people are holing up, hibernating, and, worrying themselves into oblivion.

Now, for married and otherwise connected folks, it’s a misery-loves-company thing, and not quite as scary when the load can be shared.

It’s you single folks I’m concerned about.
I’m concerned because whereas connected folks can hole up, hibernate, and worry with their partner, you singles tend to do it by yourselves.

Now, instead of letting your tizz consume you, I want you to think of this “interesting” economic time as just that, “interesting.”
And I want you to switch your mental gears to view it as an opportunity to get out there and connect by considering the following:

  1. Topics for conversation:
    Think about it.
The topics you can bring up to talk about these days is virtually endless.
A piece of advice on this one – take a positive view of things as opposed to being the prophet of gloom and doom.
For everything, it’s either half empty (no) or half full (YES!)
  2. Haute couture ala thrift shop:
Remember the days of spending big bucks on an outfit for a hot date?
    Gone!
And the best thing about it is, everyone’s in the same boat, doing the same thing.
And here’s a secret, for those of you who’ve never done it, you will be amazed at some of the treasures you’ll find.
  3. The pressure is off: That’s right.
No more expensive restaurants or weekends away.
Now a simple walk in the park or backyard barbecue will do.
  4. The perfect screening device:
    You are what you are;
    it is what it is:
And that’s the bottom line.If he (she) doesn’t like it, bu-bye!

Friends – be positive.
Send out good energy, and remember karma – what you give out is what you get back.
